This course provides an in-depth introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), with a focus on their role in industrial automation and control systems. Students will learn the fundamental principles of PLC operation, including hardware components, input/output systems, ladder logic programming, and troubleshooting techniques. The course emphasizes hands-on experience with PLC programming software and simulation tools, enabling students to design, write, and test programs for real-world manufacturing and process control applications. Topics include logic gates, timers, counters, memory functions, and basic communication protocols. By the end of the course, students will be able to configure, program, and maintain PLC systems commonly used in industrial settings such as manufacturing plants, utilities, and automated production lines.
